Here's a good article on asking questions. Enjoy!
Make people want to buy by asking the right questions
Is your communication getting you all the results you want? Do you really want to find ways to enhance your persuasive skills? If you could improve one aspect of your communications skills, what would it be? Would asking questions make a difference? The person with skill has the power and the person with the power has the skill.
The power here is words. Words are powerful---they create feelings. How you use them---how you language your words is based on your skill. The meaning of your communication is the outcome you receive. When you language your words as questions (using a soft voice, soft eyes and soft words) you allow people to retain their Personal Power. There is an art to asking questions. Learning to design effective questions and watch what happens to your effectiveness. Your self-esteem determines the kind of questions you do or do not ask. Self-esteem is the self-respect your feel for yourself. It is a feeling. Self-esteem has nothing to do with how much money you have or make, your reputation, the clothes you wear, where you live. It does not matter how you have focused your life, whether you have riches or nothing. Self-esteem is always fluctuating, is intangible and is recognized in your behavior. Self-esteem has to do with who you are and the respect you feel for you.
It is important you understand the dynamics of self-esteem in using The Art of Asking Questions. When your self-esteem is intact, you will be integrative with these skills. If you have a self-image or self-esteem, you can be manipulative and exploitative with people as you go after the outcomes you want. With self-image, you will be very self-centered and only go for what you want, with no regard for others.
My purpose is to show you how to be integrative. This can be accomplished by using the self-esteem principles in conjunction with The Art of Asking Questions for elegant, exquisite and irresistible outcomes for everyone. Have you noticed statements kill communication? Questions create conversation. The next time you are around a group of people, notice how often people shut down ideas and a conversation because they are more interested in telling versus asking. Keep in mind that you have one free question. After the first questions people have an idea where the conversation is headed. Develop scripted questions that allow you to be ready to carry on a conversation with anyone.
Here are a few examples:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. What is the single most important idea that has helped you be successful?
3. If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?
4. When do you feel most alive?
5. What do you like best about what you do?
6. What issue is at the forefront of your mind?
Keep your questions to seven words or less. The fewer words, the easier it makes it for the person to answer. From your original question you can listen externally to develop your next question. You are now on your way to a wonderful conversation.
3 steps to better questions
1. Be present to the moment. Practice eliminating any other thoughts or feelings you have so you can openly receive what the person is saying. This makes it easier for you to
2. Really listen to the person without judging what they are saying. This will allow you to hear what is important and they will feel heard.
3. Design your question based upon the words they use. Research shows people respond better when you include key words they say in your next question. Create Elegant, Exquisite and Irresistible Outcomes (EEIO) with all your questions and watch what happens.

I didnt get a chance to post anything this weekend, but I did get a few things done. I printed more business cards, redesigned my birthday invitations, and called back a few people that had called asking for information. I also made a packet of information to had out to local daycares near my work and will be handing them out during the week. I am going to redesign my birthday information flyer (I think it's alittle confussing right now) and see if i can come up with some fun package names!

I spent my time today putting up ads for my business online. I sat in on a great seminar over the weekend on free advertising so I am putting it into practice today. I also stumbled upon a meet sight for local at home moms and have joined a group. Hopefully this will yield new contacts and/or recruits.

Sunday I actually took time off from NAAW. Though it did come up in conversations at church. (I invited several ladies to my Mommmy Tea)
Today I emailed 2 local Libraries and a kid's gym. No return emails but I had 4 visitors to my sight after emails were sent.
I got ready a info packet on Camp Fire Cub Bears for past day care client that has changed owners.
I had someone contact me because they saw my recruiting ad. They emailed me to recruit me into her fantastic business opportunity. I used the chance to share the opportunity of NAAW with her. (We will see who wins!!! Just kidding!)
Emailed coordinator of workshop I am doing in July just to touch base.

I have been working on Noah's Ark but trying to fit in family too so I haven't been posting, SORRY! Sat, 4/28, two parties, 1 BB & 1 NAAW. The NAAW was girls scouts and already booked another scout troop from it. Sun, 4/29, I worked on some direct mailings and tried to contact a potential recruit. YEAH! 4/30 - WHAT A DAY!!! I have been busy since getting home from work. I talked to one potential recruit who is very excited and could make a great addition to my team. She is excited and I hope to hear from her by the end of the week. I also talked to another potential recruit, difficult time in life but will call me next week about the opportunity. Keeping my fingers crossed. Jacqui Thomas # 1447
I posted more ads today. I also contacted the contact person for a large event about representing NA.
